Richardson spent decades serving nonprofit organizations in education, healthcare, and youth development, raising more than $100 million and building institutions that endure, including a Montessori school she co-founded in Pennsylvania that is now in its 36th year. Her career took her from a regional medical center foundation to national education initiatives, with stops at Easter Seals, Simon Youth Foundation, and the International School of Indiana. As an op-ed contributor to the Indianapolis Business Journal, she has championed the idea that aging is an asset, not a liability.
Now Richardson is living in that conviction. As Founding Director of Indy Encore, she connects Indianapolis adults 50+ with encore careers, volunteer opportunities, and entrepreneurial pathways. She leads the Indy Renewment Cohort and serves on the boards of the Encore Network and The Indianapolis Propylaeum. With a background in visual arts, Richardson also plans to reclaim her roots as an exhibiting artist. Her inner Grandma Moses has waited long enough!
